Database Administrator
We are currently seeking a Database Administrator/Programmer. The candidate should be able to provide end-to-end support of Microsoft SQL Server including installing, upgrading, and maintaining MS SQL Server databases.  The candidate will be expected to perform all common SQL Server Database Administration (DBA) tasks such as database backups and recovery, space utilization, process scheduling, performance tuning, security, and replication. Basic Oracle and DB2 administration may also be required. The ability to troubleshoot and correct database issues in an efficient and timely manner is essential. In addition to DBA responsibilities, the candidate should have experience with SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers. The candidate will use expert knowledge about DBA policies, procedures, standards and supported technologies to provide customer support to clients.  

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
• At least 3-5 years of DBA working experience building, deploying and administering SQL Server 2000/2005.
• Proficient with Transact-SQL and/or PL/SQL
• MS SQL Server Certification preferred.
• Experience with the following technologies are a plus: XML, Visual Basic 6.0 / .NET / Visual SourceSafe, Oracle, DB2, Citrix

Business Analyst
Mapcom is currently in search of a business analyst. The analyst will proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements. Experience using requirements elicitation techniques such as interviews, surveys, site visits, use cases, and workflow analysis is necessary. Strong analytical and product management skills are required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. In order to effectively communicate with the software development team, the candidate must possess strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of application programming, database and system design. The applicant will be required to provide the following documentation as needed: Functional requirements, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject-matter experts are essential.
