OPASTCO recognizes Mapcom Systems’ John Granger with 2012 Grassroots Advocacy Excellence Award
Rural telecom industry recognizes Mapcom CEO with national award.
January 25, 2011 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems is pleased to announce that the Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO) recognized John Granger as recipient of the 2012 OPASTCO Grassroots Advocacy Excellence Award. Granger is President and CEO of Mapcom Systems, based in Richmond, Va.
A 30-year telecom industry veteran, Granger currently serves on OPASTCO's Education Committee, and serves on the Board of the Foundation for Rural Education Development (FRED). In addition, he recently served on the OPASTCO Board of Directors, and served as Chair of its Associate Member Committee. Granger has also appeared as a speaker at OPASTCO conferences, state telecom meetings and regional events.
The OPASTCO Grassroots Advocacy Excellence Award was presented by former OPASTCO Chairman Roger Nishi. This award is presented to an individual or group of individuals, representing an OPASTCO member company, that have shown outstanding grassroots efforts to the benefit of the OPASTCO membership.
The award was presented at OPASTCO’s 49th Annual Winter Convention and Tradeshow in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on January 17, 2012.
