Design, Map and Manage Entire Inside Plant for Copper, Coax and Fiber Based Systems

The M4 Network Equipment Manager module is an important network operations application that enables telecommunications providers to completely manage their inside plant equipment. A critical component of the M4 Solutions Suite, this module provides the ability to geographically document and manage floor and rack space within the central office, remotes and wiring closets, including all network equipment components to the chassis, shelf, drawer, card, port and jumper level.

The latest version includes updates to handle end-to-end, inside-to-outside plant equipment tracking and path tracing and easily integrates to transfer real-time information and data to or from other Operational Support Systems (OSS) devices. M4 users now have the ability to correlate customers, channels and circuits to individual pieces of equipment for analysis in conjunction with existing Element Management Systems (EMS), Network Monitoring/Management Systems (NMS) and various signal testing systems. Telcos may ascertain immediately who is affected by outages and have instant, geographically-based views of common point of failure, fiber cut and fault status locations to significantly reduce outage times. Together with the M4 Fiber module, the M4 Network Equipment Manager enables complete long haul, special circuit and fiber-to-the-premise management.

Inside Plant Design Tools

M4 Network Equipment Manager also provides a suite of inside plant design tools and a template library for standard equipment. Users have the ability to determine rack position, ventilation requirements and amperage thresholds for design and on-going maintenance purposes.
