Sales Leader / Account Executive

 We’re looking for a proven and effective sales leader that will accelerate sales and drive business growth. This is a multifaceted role providing leadership to a small team of account executives but also with responsibility for a territory.

You’ll work closely with our Executive Sales Director to execute our sales strategy. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment amongst sales activities and other functions within the company. You’ll provide coaching and mentoring to our account executives but also be responsible for aspects of the sales cycle, including planning/forecasting, prospecting, relationship management and closing. You’ll identify and develop compelling new opportunities for our technologies as well as advance the use of our technologies in existing accounts and partner relationships. 

We’re looking for someone with excellent customer facing skills, strong leadership skills, solid technical aptitude, and experience with Telcom and selling enterprise software solutions. We’re seeking someone with a passion for telecom, sales and technology, and a record of hitting and exceeding targets.

Sales Leadership:

  • Responsibility for the sales performance of the company.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of a strategic sales plant achieve targets and expand our customer base.
  • Overall management of the sales team including, but not limited to, coaching, mentoring, regular staff meetings, performance management, accountability for results.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives by accurately forecasting sales quotas and projecting expected sales volume/profit for existing and new products.
  • Effectively communicate the company’s value proposition to prospects, customers, partners, and internal staff.
  • Build new business, strengthen customer relationships, and understand industry trends.
  • Maintain sales volume, product suite, and pricing by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, partners, and competitors.
  • Serve as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, user groups, trade shows, and expositions (travel as required, when safe to do so).
  • Work closely and effectively with the executive and management teams.
  • Collaborate with the Products, Professional Services, Support, and Training teams, as required.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance against budget/forecasts and reporting on variances.

 

Account Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities for our technologies as well as advance the use of our technologies in existing accounts and partner relationships.
  • Develop proposals and presentations to meet expressed and perceived customer needs, liaising with technical resources as necessary.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships within customer organizations.
  • Close software sales and services working with the team to ensure on-time fulfillment, overall product satisfaction and question/problem resolution.
  • Record all customer/prospect communications in NetSuite.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales booking forecasts and support the budgeting and annual planning process.
  • Actively participate and support services projects with your customers.

 

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of proven experience as a sales executive/manager, partner manager, or team leader, meeting or exceeding targets, preferably in enterprise software sales.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in direct or outside B2B sales, preferably in enterprise software sales.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in telecom.
  • History of successful sales growth and business development. 
  • Proven ability to drive a sales process from plan to close.
  • Demonstrable experience developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and others.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach, and mentor a team. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of GIS and the Esri ecosystem is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • This position requires extensive travel (up to 50%) primarily in the US (when safe to do so).
