Enhanced tools and new features facilitate increased efficiency and profitable revenue growth for telecommunications and campuses using M4’s Version 12.

 

February 15, 2013 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems has released the newest version in its suite of Visual Operations System (VOS) software, M4 Solutions. The release greatly enhances capabilities for managing a service provider’s workforce, as well as inventory control and vehicle tracking. In all the release contains over 200 enhancements covering virtually all of the modules within the suite.

In this release of M4 Solutions Suite Version 12, over 200 enhancements have been made to existing M4 modules including M4 Foundation, M4 Workforce, M4 Inventory, M4 Coax, M4 Assignment, M4 Web Console, M4 Telephony, M4 Fiber, M4 Network Equipment Manager, M4 Work Order, M4 Circuit Manager, M4 Services Manager and M4 CPR.

Key enhancements include:

M4 Workforce includes significant ease of use and communication updates to the main interface and M4 Mobile Tech. Users can now set scrolling alerts for increased communication, add notes directly from any appointment in the scheduler or search bay, auto-schedule single tickets, schedule tickets in week and month view, check weather forecasts and benefit from increased file attachment functionalities. M4 Mobile Tech now includes the ability to track time codes, increased file attachment functionalities, validation of equipment, set a separate clear time, filter equipment based on inventory categories and trucks.

M4 Inventory includes new functionality to enhance inventory management. Users can import entire shipments into inventory along with scanned-in shipment information, create a threshold template with minimum and maximum thresholds and apply them to any warehouse. Also included is the ability to add configurable search options.

M4 Coax (formerly known as M4 Cable) now has a robust interface with Lode Data. Enhanced digitization of strand maps can be imported into Lode Data. With Lode Data Design Assistant, coax plant can be digitized directly into M4, allowing for traces and outage reports.

The M4 Assignment module automatically generates assignments based on service order activity. Users now have the ability to pre-provision equipment, connecting it prior to making an assignment. In addition, users can now filter equipment based on equipment descriptions in the M4 Assignment window.

M4 Web Console offers significant performance enhancements, including the use of Google Maps as the base map.

M4 Telephony now includes improvements to the ‘Validate Complement Report’ to identify and locate erroneous cable data. In addition, users can add customizable fields to the ‘Loop Makeup Report’.

M4 Fiber now includes improved splice diagram functionality, as well as enhancements to the splice creation interface.

M4 Circuit Manager can now automatically create circuit schematics. M4 Circuit Manager also includes improved DWDM functionality.
