Enhanced tools and new features facilitate increased efficiency and profitable revenue growth for telecommunications and campuses using M4’s visual operations software platform.

 

August 23, 2013 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems has released the newest version in its suite of Visual Operations System (VOS) software, M4 Solutions. The release greatly enhances capabilities for managing a service provider’s workforce, as well as fiber and circuit management. In all the release contains over 100 enhancements covering many of the modules within the suite.

Mapcom announces the addition of the M4 Process Manager module to the M4 Solutions Suite software. M4 Process Manager provides process management and workflow capabilities throughout an organization utilizing M4 Workforce. Users can effectively manage workflow tasks across multiple organizational departments while recording data associated with each task of the process directly into M4 Process Manager. Process templates can be created for repeatable internal and external service/work orders to schedule resources, while maintaining the flexibility to modify tasks in real time. Work queues will enable users and management to easily manage, search and view details of the process for the latest status and jeopardy items. Finally, users can report on processes and share the latest information with other personnel within their organization.

With this release of M4 Solutions Suite Version 12.5, over 100 enhancements have been made to existing M4 modules including M4 Foundation, M4 Workforce, M4 Mobile Tech, M4 Inventory, M4 Coax, M4 Assignment, M4 Web Console, M4 Telephony, M4 Fiber, M4 Network Equipment Manager, M4 Work Order, M4 Circuit Manager and M4 AutoRouting.

Key M4 enhancements include:

M4 Foundation now includes an active command entry field, which was added to the M4 MapLog table. M4 Fiber has several new features, including a ‘Repair Circuits from OSP’ button on the Fiber Utilities form. Adding or removing network restrictions has been simplified by using one button for the strand and port. Also, users now have the option to create multiple customer ports with customer connections when connecting structures.

With M4 Circuit Manager, you can now designate dark, dead, bad and custom paths in network restrictions.

M4 Workforce includes several significant enhancements. Users can now set tickets to reoccur at certain times on the Appointment Manager. Ticket Types now have their own Ticket State designations which will allow for specific tickets to be opened and closed immediately, for more accurate ticket category reports. Technicians can now change an appointment’s estimated time of arrival. Within the Work Order Data tab, users can now track all associated work order appointments, view the estimated completion date and current status, and click on an appointment to zoom to that location on the scheduler.

M4 Mobile Tech now includes a new app available for smart phones and tablets, allowing users to increase the ways in which technicians are deployed and use M4 Workforce. In addition, the Technician can now view and edit their time entries by selecting the ‘Time Tracker’ button on the Appointment page.

M4 Network Equipment Manager now allows the user to right-click on a card and select ‘Card View’ to bring up a larger image of a single card.

M4 Work Order includes new functionality to choose from multiple staking sheets templates when creating a staking sheet.
