September 3, 2014 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems has released the newest version in its suite of Visual Operations System (VOS) software, M4 Solutions. The release contains over 120 enhancements covering virtually all of the modules within the suite.
Of the 120+ enhancements in this release, over 35 percent were submitted by the M4 User Community, including module enhancements to M4 Foundation, M4 Workforce, M4 Mobile Tech, M4 Inventory, M4 Assignment, M4 Web Console, M4 Telephony, M4 Fiber, M4 Work Order, M4 Circuit Manager and M4 Process Manager. With these enhancements, Mapcom Systems continues to emphasize the commitment to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key M4 enhancements include:
- M4 Foundation now includes an option to overlay Google Maps within a project as a geo-reference for each M4 mapped element.
- M4 Assignment has several new features, including display of plant equipment descriptions for pre-provisioning and an enhanced Cutsheet GUI. Auto-Assignment functionality now includes enhanced search capabilities, as well as the ability to easily zoom in to service order addresses, and display color-coded assignment statuses.
- With M4 Fiber, users can now customize port colors to differentiate between fiber and copper patch cords, as well as establish durations for their network restrictions.
- M4 Circuit Manager includes several significant enhancements including the user’s ability to configure circuits on copper cables, add or remove network restrictions, and automatically establish port chronology using M4’s internal database.
- M4 Workforce now includes additional enhancements for more effective scheduling & ticket creation, auto-scheduling and ticket management.
- M4 Mobile Tech now includes features for automated contract delivery, equipment validation, and equipment management from truck to truck.
- M4 Network Equipment Manager now allows the user to terminate both copper and fiber cables directly at the bay, as well as establish WDM wavelength range to accommodate Daisy Chain WDM Multiplexers.
- With M4 Web Console, users can now show multiple SQL markers, as well as utilize a CSR report tool to assist in the delivery and diagnosis of network issues.
