Following acquisition, Mapcom Systems rebrands as VertiGIS

RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems, a leader in broadband network management software, announced today that it has been rebranded as VertiGIS. This announcement follows Mapcom’s acquisition in June 2020.

The rebranding initiative includes a new corporate name and logo to match the global VertiGIS brand. VertiGIS is backed by global, technology-based investment firm Battery Ventures, who began acquiring GIS and location technology-focused companies under the brand in 2017.

There will be no changes to the company’s flagship product brand, M4 Solutions.

“Today’s announcement marks a major milestone in our integration with the global VertiGIS organization,” said Tom Mirc, Co-General Manager and VP of Technology. “While our team remains focused on building solutions that will serve community broadband providers for the next decade, this new name unites us with the shared vision that VertiGIS has for innovation in GIS technology across industries.”

Marty McDermott, Co-General Manager and VP of Operations said: “This change is a natural step in our journey with VertiGIS as we focus on leveraging our combined capabilities to deliver an outstanding experience for our customers and exciting career development opportunities for our people.”
