Mapcom Systems joins Smart Rural Community Advisory Committee in promotion of rural ingenuity.

May 22, 2014 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems is proud to announce they are both sponsors of NTCA’s Smart Rural Community (SRC) and members of the Advisory Committee (SRCAC).

Smart Rural Community is an initiative of NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association. The SRC is comprised of programming related to and promoting rural broadband networks and their broadband-enabled applications. Communities can leverage this initiative to foster innovative economic development, commerce, education, healthcare, government services, public safety/security and more efficient distribution and use.

The SRCAC supports the SRC initiative by providing the technical and business expertise essential to the implementation of the program. The SRCAC includes representatives from the communications, power utility, education, agriculture, public safety, health care and rural economic development industries.

“Showcasing rural ingenuity is very important to the progression of related industries and we are very proud to support the SRC and see it gaining popularity,” said John Granger, President and CEO of Mapcom Systems.
