Facilitated by members of the Mapcom Client Experience Team, M4 Solutions’ software tools gave clients the ability to easily correlate, analyze and export geographic data to meet the FCC requirement for coverage map updates.

May 23, 2013 – RICHMOND, VA – Mapcom Systems, the developer of M4 Solutions visual operations software, is pleased to announce that over forty companies have successfully met today’s deadline to submit their Federal Communications Commission Study Area Boundaries using its M4 Solutions software and M4 Universal Translator.

Using a combination of tools from within the M4 Solution Suite – particularly a set of boundary and polygon analysis tools and the M4 Universal Translator – Mapcom’s technical and support staff provided 46 customers from 25 different states with the required files to meet the FCC specifications. Clients logged in to the M4 customer support knowledgebase to find more information on the FCC’s order, its specific file requirements, and the procedures utilized within M4 to complete and export the new required files. As always, Mapcom’s Customer Support and Client Services teams were on hand to answer questions and ensure that the process took place in a timely fashion with minimal disruption to clients’ day-to-day business.

In an USF/ICC Transformation Order release November 6, 2012, the FCC announced plans to adopt data requirements for collecting study area boundaries. Specifically, the Wireline Competition Bureau issued an Order on November 6, 2012, adopting data specifications for collecting study area boundaries for purposes of creating a complete, publicly-accessible, nationwide set of study area boundaries for use in implementing USF reforms. The Order established a May 23, 2013 deadline for submission of the required files.
